Eastdale Studios / James Rees
Please read these Terms and Conditions carefully before purchasing any photography or video service from Eastdale Studios / James Rees.
These terms apply to all services provided by James Rees, trading as Eastdale Studios, including but not limited to: portrait photography, self-tape monologue filming, headshots, and other related media production services.
These terms apply to personal, non-commercial usage unless otherwise specified in a commercial licensing agreement.
1. DEFINITIONS
“You”, “Client”, “Buyer” refer to the person booking or purchasing a photography or video service.
“We”, “Us”, “Our”, “Photographer”, “Videographer” refer to James Rees, trading as Eastdale Studios.
“Images” means any photographic content supplied by the Photographer.
“Footage” means any digital video files supplied by the Videographer.
“Agreement” and “Terms” refer to the legally binding agreement between the Client and Eastdale Studios / James Rees.
By booking a service, you confirm you have read and agreed to these terms. If you have any questions, please get in touch.
2. CANCELLATION POLICY
2.1. Up to 72 hours prior – Deposit refunded minus 5% processing fee.
2.2. Within 72 hours – Deposit non-refundable.
2.3. Within 24 hours or no-show – Full session fee is due.
If you think you may need to cancel or reschedule, please contact us as early as possible. We’ll make every effort to rearrange, but we reserve the right to decline rescheduling.
Sessions are non-refundable unless exceptional circumstances apply.
3. REARRANGEMENT
3.1. Up to 72 hours prior – No charge.
3.2. Within 72 hours – Deposit forfeited (unless the slot is re-filled).
3.3. Within 24 hours – Full fee payable.
3.4. If a session is cancelled after rearrangement, the deposit remains non-refundable.
4. LIABILITY
You agree that Eastdale Studios / James Rees will not be held liable for injuries, accidents, or damage that occur during your session or on-site. Reasonable care will be taken to ensure your safety.
5. IMAGE USE & CONSENT
You consent to your image and basic professional details (e.g. Spotlight profile) being used for promotional purposes by Eastdale Studios / James Rees, unless you request otherwise in writing. This includes usage on the website, social media, and printed marketing materials.
6. PAYMENT & PRICING
6.1. A £50 deposit or 25% for quoted work is required to confirm your booking.
6.2. The remaining balance is due 72 hours before the session.
6.3. Prices are fixed once a deposit is received.
6.4. All pricing is based on the rates listed on the official website or quotation.
6.5. Pricing is subject to change at any time for new bookings.
7. COPYRIGHT
7.1. All images and video footage remain the copyright of James Rees / Eastdale Studios.
7.2. You may not edit, filter, retouch, resell or claim authorship of any image or video.
7.3. RAW files are never provided. Unedited JPEGs are only provided if specified.
7.4. Use of content must include credit to “Eastdale Studios” or “James Rees” where possible (see exemptions below).
Exemption: Credit is not required for LinkedIn profile photos where no credit option exists.
8. LICENCE OF USE
You are granted a personal-use licence only unless agreed otherwise.
Permitted Uses:
Posting on personal websites or social media.
Use in showreels or online portfolios (including Spotlight, Mandy, Backstage).
Printing for personal use.
Not Permitted:
Commercial usage (e.g. advertising or promotional campaigns).
Resale or sublicensing.
Uploading to monetised platforms.
Alteration of content (e.g. filters, AI editing, cropping).
For commercial or extended use, a separate licence must be arranged in writing.
9. DELIVERY
9.1. No content is delivered until full payment is received.
9.2. Images must be selected for editing within 60 days of receiving proof/contact sheets.
9.3. All content is delivered “as is” — no refunds or re-edit requests will be accepted due to style, framing, or colour grading preferences.
9.4. Final content is provided via Dropbox, WeTransfer or Google Drive with a download expiry of 14 days.
9.5. It is your responsibility to download and store your content.
10. STORAGE
10.1. Unedited images and outtakes are stored for 60 days only.
10.2. Edited content is stored for up to 2 years but cannot be guaranteed.
10.3. It is your responsibility to back up all files promptly.
11. SESSION ATTENDANCE & TRAVEL
11.1. Please arrive on time for your session. Late arrival may shorten your session without refund.
11.2. For location shoots, you must provide clear instructions and allow reasonable access.
11.3. Travel and parking charges may apply for off-site bookings and will be agreed in advance.
11.4. We are not liable for delays or issues caused by transport, access restrictions, or lack of parking.
12. VIDEOGRAPHY SERVICES
12.1. Where videography is included (e.g. self-tapes or event filming), technical standards and editing levels must be agreed in advance.
12.2. Basic edits (e.g. audio levels, transitions) are included.
12.3. Two minor revisions are included for video work. Major re-edits may incur additional charges.
12.4. Usage of video content follows the same personal-use licence terms as photography.
12.5. Commercial usage requires an extended licence.
13. LOST PROPERTY
Please check your belongings before leaving the session. Forgotten items may be:
Collected within 2 weeks (by arrangement), or
Returned by post (£25 handling fee plus postage).
Unclaimed items will be donated or disposed of after 14 days.
14. CHANGES TO THESE TERMS
Eastdale Studios / James Rees reserves the right to update these Terms and Conditions at any time. The most current version will always be available upon request or via the official booking communication.
15. GOVERNING LAW
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
